Mojang’s Minecraft is one of the most popular game titles in the world with more than 141 million active users playing the game every month. It’s one of the best-selling games of all time, and now with more than a trillion views on Youtube, the game has set another milestone.
The game was first released to the public with limited content in 2009, and the game was fully released later in 2011. Microsoft celebrated the game’s 10th anniversary this year with a series of announcements and upcoming content. Since its first reveal in 2009, the game has built a sizable large community on Youtube and other social media platforms. With more than 35,000 active content creators on Youtube alone, the game has one of the most active gaming communities on Youtube.
Today the game hits another milestone by getting 1 trillion views on Youtube. Minecraft is the very first game to hit 1 trillion views on the video platform and Youtube is celebrating this milestone with the game’s most popular content creators including PewDiePie, Mrbeast, CaptainSparklez, Mumbo Jumbo, etc.
Youtube created a special video to commemorate this success. The video shows some of the most popular content creators coming together to build a Minecraft City that shows the various game elements and the freedom of creativity, paired with the legendary song “We Build This City” by Starship as background music.
All visitors today are greeted with a special animated Minecraft “1 Billion” logo instead of the original YouTube logo. The video giant has also made a special post about Minecraft explaining the game’s journey on Youtube and how big it has gotten over the years.
Minecraft’s success on YouTube has been a key to success growth of both, as one will be incomplete without the other. Throughout the year, Minecraft has remained a hot game and genre on Youtube and has helped bring the carriers of many content creators to market. With Microsoft adding Minecraft to its Game Pass service and offering both Java and Bedrock editions in a single game package, the game is sure to keep growing in popularity.
