Double Masters is a supplementary set that is focused on popular themes seen throughout Magic’s history. The set is all about, you guessed it, doubling up on value. This means that players can expect to see plenty of counters, tokens and potentially even entering and leaving the battlefield triggers. There will be several ways to increase the potency of those mechanics.
These supplementary sets are also great opportunities for Wizards of the Coast to reprint popular cards that have shot up in price. Since some of the most powerful and expensive cards in Magic aren’t suitable for reprints in Standard, sets like Double Masters 2022 serve as the best vessel for Magic to give players another chance to open up those expensive cards. Catch the first previews June 16 on Twitch. You won’t want to miss it.
