What is switch error code 2306-0502?

Some people trying to play their Nintendo Switch have encountered error codes like 2306-0501 and 2306-0502 which are codes related to when a gamer tries to play an online match.

Nintendo advises that these error codes appear when players are disconnected from the service and the error is usually due to the player’s internet connection.

Possible solutions include restarting your internet which can fix any problem with your network, moving the switch closer to a WiFi router, removing metal or electronic objects from the switch, or connecting to a different network.

If none of these options work, it may be a situation that is beyond your control and the only solution to fixing the problem is to just wait and see.

The failure is likely a symptom of a larger problem as several services stalled on December 15th due to issues with Amazon Web Services. These errors occurred this morning and affected a variety of services including Twitch, Facebook, DoorDash, Amazon, Blizzard, VALORANT, and more.

If you have tried all of the above and are still experiencing service interruptions, Nintendo recommends Update your router’s firmware, perform a factory reset, or contact your router manufacturer for further assistance.

While these error codes are usually the result of an interrupted internet connection, they are likely to be caused by outages affecting Amazon Web Services or other service disruptions beyond the player’s control.
