NRG streamer Alan “ethos” Ruan has revealed that teammate Matthew “Crit” Franks lied about his RT-PCR test results while playing in the Philadelphia LAN tournament on Nerd Street. Crit allegedly lied about his RT-PCR results and showed up to the event even though his family members tested positive.
Ethos shared the group chat screenshots in one Tweet and urge participants in the tournament, which took place on January 8th and 9th, to get tested for COVID-19.
“One of our teammates lied about getting a PCR test when his whole family had it and has only now admitted it. He and several others just tested positive,” said Ethos. “Don’t be irresponsible, immature, or an idiot.”
Crit has apologized for his actions and admitted to being “immature” and “irresponsible”.
“I leave my own drive to compete, which is really important,” Crit said in a separate tweet.
In response to Ethos’ tweet, John Fazio, CEO of Nerd Street, said that Crit’s behavior is “unacceptable” and “dealt with quickly”.
“We’re all in the same boat. If we want to go back to regular LANs, we all have to do our part,” he said. “We’ll also be reviewing our LAN guidelines. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.”
