VALORANT Champions final winners, MVP and result predictions

More than a million people watched the semi-finals of the VALORANT Champions Saturday to see one of the greatest cards in VALORANT history. The match between KRÜ Esports and Gambit Esports went over 34 rounds in a tactical exchange of blows. Now Gambit Esports meets Acend in the very first VALUING Champions grand finale.

Both teams were up and down during the championship period. Acend originally fell to Vivo Keyd before a competitive decision made them replay the crucial card. The European team has not dropped a card since then. Gambit Esports, the champions of the Stage 3 Masters Berlin, have released tickets for X10 CRIT, Team Secret, Team Vikings and now KRÜ Esports. Both have shown that they can do anything to get to the top.

Read on to get thoughts from the Upcomer staff, including game, MVP, and card predictions. The game begins on Sunday at 12:00 PM EST on the official VALORANT Twitch channel.

Who will win VALORANT Champions and with what number of points?

Acend will win the VALORANT Champions Final. After a controversial start with the camera exploit used by Vivo Keyd, Acend is on the sidelines. Team Liquid, which I thought would take over the whole thing, had no chance against Santeri “BONECOLD” Sassi and Co. Gambit looked shakier than in previous tournaments, and dropped cards for every team it played against.

Acend wins 3-2.

– Aron Garst

Gambit Esports will win champions because they have the mental strength to bring the series back. We have seen it twice in this tournament where Gambit defies all odds to take the series win. Both against Team Vikings and against KRÜ Esports.

Gambit wins 3-1

– Danny Appleford

Gambit Esports will win champions. The grand finale will be a five-card affair that is all about mental strength and courage. Acend have had pretty painless playoff matches so far, which of course speaks for their caliber, but Gambit has an advantage over them because they have shown they can win in a corner too.

Gambit wins 3-1.

Who will be the final MVP?

The series MVP goes to Nikita “d3ffo” Sudakov, who was an absolute monster at both Jett and Skye throughout the event. If he can keep up the pace he’s had lately, he should become the show’s MVP.

– Appleford

It should be Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov if Gambit has the edge. He carried the team through the game against KRÜ. If Acend wins, the MVP could go to just about anyone on that roster. All the players on this team have shone in different parts of champions.

– Garst

If Gambit wins, Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov will be the final MVP. Chronicle has been a consistent high performer for Gambit in that tournament, offering valuable utility and doing clutch games to save entire laps. His ability to reverse any situation will prove invaluable to Gambit, especially against Acend, which has shown itself to be able to exploit vulnerabilities and overwhelm its opponents.

Most important card in the last best-of-five veto?

Tie. Acend considers it an automatic win. It will play a central role in the grand finale, no matter what. Gambit could feel safe and challenge Acend. If it is removed, Acend will have to win in some other way. I would love to see Fracture, but it’s not a card for both teams so it’s unlikely.

– Garst

If Gambit wants a better chance of a 3-1 or 3-2 win over Acend, Bind must be banned. They can play Gambit on Fracture or Breeze, but Acend has shown how comfortable they are on Bind.

– Appleford

I agree with Aron and Danny here and say that Gambit should ban bind. They battled KRÜ in this exciting five-time overtime on Saturday, while Acend has decisively won every bind they have played these champions against. Without this card in play, the teams will be as even as possible.
