
Thirty-four US states, the District of Columbia and Microsoft have officially joined Epic Games in their lawsuit against Apple, as filed via Friend of the Senate Submission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
After Epic initially submitted its opening short On Jan. 20, before the Ninth Circuit in its fight against Apple’s app store fees and payment tool regulation, attorneys general of 34 US states and the District of Columbia and Microsoft filed the matter in support of the Fortnite maker on Thursday.
“Apple’s behavior has hurt and hurt mobile app developers and millions of citizens,” the states said in their brief.
“Meanwhile, Apple continues to monopolize app distribution and in-app payment solutions for iPhones, stifling competition and accumulating cross-competitive profits in the nearly trillion-dollar-per-year smartphone industry.”
