Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox game where you can do anything you want. Whether you’re building a giant castle or mining diamonds, there is always something to do.
The Minecraft world consists of three dimensions: the overworld, the nether and the end. The ending is without a doubt the most mysterious dimension in the game. In fact, many gamers have never ventured to the end, despite spending hundreds of hours in Minecraft. Before you dive in, here are a few things you didn’t know you can do in the bizarre dimension.
10 A rematch with the Ender Dragon
The Ender Dragon may not be the strongest boss in Minecraft, but technically it will be the last boss as defeating the Ender Dragon is the only way to see the game’s credits. There are probably a lot of things you didn’t know about the Ender Dragon, including how you could actually fight the boss a second time.
By placing an end crystal on each of the four edges of the end well in the center of the battlefield, you can spawn the dragon a second time. It’s a great way to farm XP provided you know some strategies to take down the Ender Dragon quickly.
9 Dragon breath can be bottled
The breath of the purple dragon that the Ender Dragon fires at the player is not only a deadly attack, but can even be bottled with an empty bottle. The only purpose of bottling Dragon Breath is to use it as an ingredient in lingering potions.
By brewing a splash potion with dragon breath, you create a persistent potion. Lingering potions can be thrown and explode on impact, leaving a cloud in the area with status effects that linger on stepping. They can also be enchanted to be used offensively or defensively.
8th Journey to the End Islands
After killing the Ender Dragon for the first time, you can find End Gateways that will take you to the End Island. These end islands are filled with chorus plants, endermen, and shulkern, as well as entire structures known as end cities. End cities are huge, skyscraper-like buildings full of unique loot.
Endships are usually located in end cities and also offer some of the best loot in the game, including the extremely rare Elytra. These end islands are well worth exploring after the game as they contain all of the treasures that reside in them.
7th Create an Enderman Farm
It’s actually quite easy to create an Enderman farm in Minecraft. Provided you have relatively easy access to your end portal this shouldn’t be a problem. Most of the materials you will need to build the farm will not be difficult to find during your trip.
An Enderman farm is without a doubt the easiest way to level up in Minecraft and earn XP. If you build your farm 42 or 43 blocks deep, you can take out any of the Endermen in one fell swoop. It’s the most efficient XP farm out there.
6th Use beds as TNT
There is no concept of time in the end which creates problems with certain items, including beds. If you ever end up trying to sleep you just won’t make it because your bed will explode the second you place it. This feature surprised many players.
Essentially, beds end up acting as TNT. So if you ever want to mine in the mysterious dimension, you can bring a number of beds. It’s a great way to grow endstone for your home.
5 Can build an Ender Chest
Ender chests are very useful items in Minecraft that are worth making. They can be used like normal chests, but all Ender chests in the world are interconnected, no matter what dimension you are in. In addition, the contents of the Ender chest are unique for each character, so other players cannot see what you put in the chest and what you took out.
To make an Ender Chest, you need eight Obsidians and one Ender’s Eye. They can also be found in certain End City treasuries. You should find them and get as many Ender Chests as you can.
4th You can breed choir
The end is a barren place, but that doesn’t mean it has no vegetation. It turns out that a fruit known as chorus grows in the outer end islands and has many uses. Eating a chorus fruit restores four hunger points and 2.4 hunger pangs, but that can teleport you eight blocks in each direction.
Chorus fruits can also be melted to make popped chorus fruits, which are used to make end bars and purple blocks. In contrast to raw chorus fruit, popped chorus fruit cannot be eaten and is a purely craft ingredient.
3 Listen to distorted music
If you’ve ever found The End’s music to be quite unsettling, it’s because all of the tracks in the Dimension are a distorted version of the regular Overworld music. It’s the music that you already know and love from the game, but adapted to the ambience of the ending.
While the music may end up spooky for you, there’s no denying that it fits the dimension perfectly. Mojang absolutely got it to the point with the music in Minecraft and it shows. You could listen to the soundtrack for hours.
2 Spin watches forever
In the end there is no time. If you end up holding a watch in your hand, it will spin continuously and never stop. This makes perfect sense as you don’t need to know what time it will end up being.
It really doesn’t matter what time it ends and the game will remind you of it by blowing up your beds and turning your clocks forever. It’s a nice detail to add to the game as the ending really feels like a completely different world.
1 Only room for Elytra
The Elytra is the ultimate post-game item in Minecraft and can only be obtained after defeating the Ender Dragon and finding an End Ship in an End City. There is a lot you need to know about the Elytra, but their main characteristic is that they are the only source of flight in survival mode.
The Elytra makes it incredibly easy to travel through the overworld and can be enchanted with repair so they can be repaired when you get experience orbs. You will definitely want to get an Elytra once you beat the Ender Dragon in Minecraft.
