After a tournament full of competitive decisions against teams from Brazil at VALORANT Champions, fans of the region turned their anger on Sentinels player Jared “zombs” Gitlin after a series of tweets from him on Saturday. The beef started after his teammate Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khanmade made a joke Twitter As an indication of the technical break, a tournament official called the Sentinels game against FURIA Esports a few days earlier after Gambit Esports had won their game against Team Vikings. The Brazilian squad lost the card over several rounds at the match point.
“Should have called for a technical break,” tweeted ShahZaM.
should have taken a break in technology

In Sentinels’ match against FURIA, a tournament official called for a technical break at 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The Brazilians had won a number of rounds and tried to send the card into overtime. The 15-minute break caused FURIA to lose momentum and Sentinels took the round right after the game resumed and won the series. ShahZaM joked that the Vikings should have done the same with Gambit when the Russians came back and eventually defeated the Brazilians in overtime.
Brazilian influencers and commentators jumped about the joke that said it was tasteless. ShahZaM reiterated that the contribution was not confrontational.
“Your joke antagonizes an entire region / country and stirs up an already shitty situation. We should be the adults in the room, ”said Brazilian commentator Gustavo“ Melão ”Ruzza.

Zombs then jumped into the fray with its own tweet, which resulted in thousands of quote retweets and replies.
“I can’t wait to hit your damn region again,” said zombs.
Can’t wait to hit your fucking region again

Also FURIA investor and Co-CEO André Akkari answered on Twitter asking for a punishment for posting zombies.
“As Co-CEO of FURIA Esports and as a Brazilian, I would really like this type of behavior to be punished appropriately,” wrote Akkari on Twitter. “That can’t happen! Esports is about respect, passion, love. Disregarding 220 million people, many of whom live in poverty, is unacceptable. “

Zombs continued to make things easy as fans from Brazil shouted for his head demanding an apology. After his loss to Team Liquid, the Sentinels player went back to Twitter.
“Brazil has to type less, play more,” he said called.

Brazilian fans are known as devoted and passionate fans when it comes to their teams, eSports or anything else. The region was announced on Twitter #justiceforkeyd after Vivo Keyd lost their match to Acend due to a competition decision by tournament officials. The team eventually reviewed the verdict and had the two teams replay the final card.
Riot Games did not respond to calls from Brazilian fans for zombie punishment. Sentinels and Zombs could play again in the lower round against Brazilian club FURIA if they beat KRÜ Esports Sunday.
