The Surging Rangers are home to the fighting Blackhawks

The up and coming Rangers will greet the fighting Blackhawks tonight at 8 p.m. ET. The Rangers celebrate a 1-0 win against the Sharks on Friday evening and win their seventh home game in a row. Will the Rangers continue their amazing winning streak?

The New York Rangers

The Rangers only goal was a PPG scored by Ryan Strome # 16, giving the Rangers their seventh consecutive home win. While things went great for the Rangers, things didn’t look good early in the game.

For the first five minutes of the first period the Sharks were all over the Rangers in what looked like a battle for the Rangers, but the game took a complete 180 degree turn. The Rangers started hitting more and their passes, especially during their power plays, were great. Unfortunately for the Sharks, Adin Hill’s performance was downplayed by his team’s lack of offense.

The Sharks goalkeeper, Adin Hill, was also outstanding with 26 saves. Their three-game winning streak ended with this loss to the Rangers and they were 0-on-2 in power play.

Igor Shesterkin won another win and made his record 13-3-2. Shesterkin and Alexander Georgiev had a combined win with 28 saves shutout after Shesterkin left 5:08 in the third period. Georgiev made nine saves after Shesterkin’s departure, due to an injury to his right leg. Shesterkin was face down on the ice, needing help getting out of the car without putting any strain on his right leg. So far, the only news about the severity of Shesterkin’s injury is what Rangers manager Gerard Gallant said. Senior Author for nhl.com, Dan Rosen the Rangers manager said, informing Gallant that Shesterkin’s injury “isn’t as bad as it looks”. That is the extent of what is known about his injury.

Georgiev made some fantastic saves despite only blocking nine shots on goal. He’s had problems this season so this combined shutout can give him exactly what he needs, which is confidence. If Shesterkin is out, Georgiev will likely be the goalkeeper for tonight’s game, possibly longer.

The Chicago Blackhawks

the Black hawk fighting with a record of 8-12-2 in 22 games. They occupy seventh place in the Central Division of the Western Conference. They are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games and win against the Washington Capitals 4-3 in a shootout Thursday night. Points for the Black hawk were Alex DeBrincat, Dominik Kubalik (PPG) and Seth Jones. Patrick Kane scored the only goal on penalties. DeBrincat and Jones also had an assist.

The bad news for the Blackhawks is they’re gone 3-7-1. This will make it difficult for them to win against any of the Rangers who are one of the best teams in ice hockey right now. The Rangers are at home 7-1-1. Set this record against a team that is struggling to win away games. It could be brutal for the Blackhawks.

The Rangers dominated their opponents. It doesn’t seem to matter if they’re a goal or two behind, the Rangers always seem to find a way to put things into action and get a win. This will be a challenge for the Blackhawks, who have not been a good team so far. Will the Rangers make eight home wins in a row? Or will the Blackhawks have two straight wins in December? Stay tuned for tonight’s matchup at 8:00 p.m. ET to see who will win this fight.
