In the early days of VALORANT, TSM was the dominant force in North America.
Her squad was constantly collecting titles and becoming esports superstars. With the arrival of the VALORANT Champions Tour in 2021, TSM was ready to prove itself to be the best in the region and perhaps the world.
But just as the VCT was in full swing, TSM’s performance inexplicably imploded. They failed to qualify for major tournaments, missed every international LAN, and fell a mile behind the field.
2020 may have been littered with tournament wins, but 2021 was a disaster.
This is the rise and fall of TSM VALORANT.
In April 2020, the release of Riot Games’ new FPS title VALORANT sparked shock waves of excitement in the competitive gaming community.
People raced for beta keys and eSports pros gave up Counter-Strike and Overwatch in favor of VALORANT, while organizations combed the emerging scene for duty rosters.
In May, just a month after the VALORANT beta was released, Team SoloMid joined the major North American organizations flocking to the new game.
