Device is a prolific Dane AWPer for ninjas in pajamas. Several disasters at NiP have drained the device too much, but no transfer from Team Astralis.
Device had parted ways with Astralis at the beginning of April this year. The decision was made mainly due to Covid restrictions and easy accessibility.
NiP Device is a Danish citizen. However, he speaks Swedish and has lived in Stockholm for the past 4 years. All of these factors drove his decision to switch to ninjas in pajamas back in April.

3/5: I have taken active steps towards recovery and I look forward to doing the work that will enable me to get back to the top of my game and be the best version of myself.
All of these nonsensical reports of leaving the team are just that, nonsense …

Several reasons play a role here. The most important factor, however, is Nicolai’s health.
A few days ago Nicolai mentioned his current mental state. A professional esports career also takes its toll.

Satisfaction is the key to any career development. You cannot stay happy if you cannot achieve anything substantial with the investments you have made. Device seems to have fallen into this trap.
The last few weeks have been quite turbulent for Device. Social media and media only make the situation worse. In terms of Astralis, NiP Device is currently not interested.

1/5: Hey guys, 2021 was a tough year for so many people, including me. Today there is new speculation as to why I am currently taking time off: I shouldn’t have to, but since it turns out to be unfair to my teammates, I thought it best to make a statement …

In the past few days there have been several false positives regarding the possible transmission of Nicolai “device” Reedtz back to Astralis. But Nicolai mentioned something else.
Although he’s not doing well, NiP has given him freedom, as he said. So he’s trying to bounce back to his peak and quickly help NiP get competitive again.
Much rests on Device’s shoulders at the moment. Nicolai was brought in to give NiP the advantage of winning their second Valve Major.

The last time NiP won a major was in 2014. It was that ESL One Cologne, definitely a Cinderella. They fought their way back from the lower brackets to win the major title against Fnatic.
NiP is trying to achieve this title again. Or at least the last record they set. But at the moment it’s all a pipe dream.
Hopefully with the return of Device after his recovery, this will soon become a reality. So get well soon Nicolai “Device” Reedtz.
