System Shock Owner Says Third Game’s Future Is Up To Tencent

The rights to System Shock were sold to the company Tencent a while back, much to the disappointment of players who wanted a sequel. System Shock 3 has in fact long been rumored to be in development. The latest news is that everything is entirely in the hands of Tencent at this point. According to Chief Executive Officer at Nightdive Stephen Kick, “when we originally acquired the rights to the franchise, we licensed the rights for the third game to Warren and Paul at Otherside. They then subsequently sold their rights to Tencent.” The executive went on to say that “Tencent currently has the rights to the third game and we have the rights to do the remake of the first game and potentially a remake of the second game. That’s pretty much where it stands right now.” Sounds to me like there might just be a remake in the works.

Destiny 2’s Golgoroth Is Scaring Players With An Extremely Loud Roar

Destiny 2 players have apparently been getting scared from a really bad bug in the latest version of the game. “We’re aware of an issue where Golgoroth can sometimes produce an extremely loud roar in the King’s Fall raid,” the developer behind the game, Bungie, announced on Twitter. “It’s recommended to lower your audio output when fighting Golgoroth until a fix can be implemented.”

High On Life Dev Says DLC Is Already Planned

High on Life isn’t scheduled to come out until December 13, but the developer apparently already has plans for some downloadable content. The news comes from Executive Producer at Squanch Games Maddy Studivan who spoke a little bit about the upcoming title at the recently held Gamescom. “The biggest thing for us is we want to make sure that we’re supporting the game after launch for a long time with bug fixing and content that we couldn’t get in,” Studivan remarked. The company is currently “thinking about DLC, as always. With Trover, we supported it for a long time and that really paid off as a studio and so I think we want to do the same with High on Life.”

Denuvo DRM Comes To The Nintendo Switch

The massively unpopular digital rights management software known as Denuvo could be coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future. The company behind this program, Irdeto, has always denied the claims, but many players have complained that Denuvo causes poor performance, at least on PC. According to Irdeto, “Nintendo consoles have long suffered from piracy issues and the Switch is no different. Even if a game is protected against piracy on its PC version, the released version on Switch can be emulated from day one and played on PC, therefore bypassing the strong protections offered on the PC version. This can happen with any of the numerous games available on Switch.”

Gears Of War, Fortnite Pro Player Xcells Killed In Shooting Incident

The pro player known as Xcells recently died after a shooting incident at a private home in Boones Hill, Virginia. What exactly transpired remains in question, but the community has been coming together with condolences. The former caster for Epic Games called xSundown confirmed the news, noting that “my soul hurts. I know you were battling so many demons from your past and trying to be a better person. I’ll cherish the times we got to talk and watch you compete. Regardless of any and everything, you didn’t deserve this.” The many fans and followers of the pro player have been expressing similar sentiments.
