The best VALORANT teams in 2021

The opening season of the VALORANT The Champions Tour gave fans a great opportunity to see the best teams from their region compete before they compete against the top teams around the world. Teams from around the world proved to be the best their regions had to offer and earned their place as some of the best VALORANT Teams in 2021. Here is a list of the top VALORANT Teams that stood out from the crowd in 2021.

Akend

Acend secured the opening ceremony VALORANT Championship title and consolidated their place as the best team in the world. They went undefeated throughout the tournament, beating Vivo Keyd, Envy, Team Secret, Team Liquid, and Gambit Esports.

The team had success in the early days VALORANT by winning the European Masters event even though they did not qualify for the Masters Reykjavík. They made it to the Masters Berlin, despite 100 Thieves eliminating them in the quarterfinals. Most fans never questioned the team’s potential, although many expected another EU team to take the league title. But Acend has shown that they can rival the best from every region and are likely to be a notable force in the 2022 season.

Guardian

Sentinels were one of the most dominant teams in 2021. They had a firm grip on the top spot in North America and won the first Masters event with an unbeaten run. They made an incredible debut on the international stage at Masters Reykjavík and were the first team to win an international match VALORANT Title.

They kept their momentum in VCT Stage Three by winning the NA Challengers Playoffs and looked like they were on their way to a third title in the Masters Berlin. But they couldn’t pull off the three and were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Champions was an even tougher experience; Sentinels didn’t make it out of the group stage.

Despite the disappointing finish, Sentinels were still one of the best VALORANT Teams 2021.

gambit

Gambit Esports was arguably the best European team to go to champions. They won the Masters Berlin and defeated Envy 3-0 in the grand finale. Their pre-Champions success led many to believe they would come home with another title, but they ultimately lost to Acend in the grand final.

Despite this second place, Gambit is still one of the best teams of the year. They are a shining example of the European dominance in VALORANT and are just one step behind Acend.

KRU Sport

KRU Esports was one of the best South American teams in 2021 and performed at all three Masters events. Failed to win their regional Masters event, they were sent home from Masters Reykjavík with just one win over Shark Esports. They did better in Masters Berlin and made the playoffs, but G2 Esports eliminated them.

The third time the attraction for KRU was on the international stage. They had one of the most impressive runs in Champions, sending FURIA, Sentinels and Fnatic home before being eliminated in the quarterfinals by Gambit Esports.

This year has been a long battle for KRU Esports and they successfully raised their flag among the best teams in the world.

Cloud9 blue

Cloud9 Blue got off to a difficult start in 2021. Star duelist Tyson “TenZ” Ngo left the team to focus on content creation before joining Sentinels and one of the biggest names in. would VALORANT. But C9 Blue becomes one of the best North American teams in the latter part of the season and one of the three NA teams that make it to the championships.

Cloud9 took on the vanity of ex-Version1 players before the NA Last Chance Qualifier and went on cleaning the house. They defeated Rise, 100 Thieves, XSET, Gen.G, and Version1 to earn their place in champions. They were also the only North American team to survive the Champions group stage, though Team Liquid quickly eliminated them. Hopefully for the fans we will see another impressive year of Cloud9 Blue next season.

X10

X10 is an Asia Pacific team that, along with Team Secret, has dominated the region. X10 won the SEA Masters event and made its international debut at Masters Reykjavík. They beat Crazy Raccoon but were sent home by Fnatic.

The team made it back to an international event VALORANT Champs and qualified for the playoffs, defeating Vivo Keyd and Envy. They were eventually defeated by Gambit but still won a card against the dominant EU team.

X10 was one of the best teams in its region all year round and did relatively well at international events. Don’t overlook the fact that this team is heading into the 2022 season.

Vision Strikers

Vision Strikers are without a doubt the best Koreans VALORANT Team. They had a famous winning streak of 104 games and won the first ever Masters event in Korea. They didn’t make it into the Masters Reykjavík, but they made it into the quarter-finals of the Masters Berlin.

The team didn’t make it through the group stage VALORANT Champs and beat FULL SENSE only in their opening match. It is clear that Vision Strikers are struggling on the international stage, but they are still the dominant Korean team and are likely to have another stellar run in the next year.

Crazy Raccoon

Crazy Raccoon was the best Japanese team in 2021, but failed to make a name for itself internationally. They left the Masters Reykjavik without winning a match and only won one series against Havan Liberty in the Masters Berlin.

Champions was tough on the team. They were swept by Team Vikings and Team Secret and went home for the season without winning a single ticket in the biggest event of the year.

Team secret

Team Secret was a sleeping giant who made its first international appearance at Champions. They were considered one of the underdogs in Group C, but they defeated Crazy Raccoon and Team Vikings to secure their place in the playoffs. VCT Champs Acend eliminated them in the quarterfinals, but they still fared better than expected.

Team Vikings

Team Vikings is one of the best Brazilian teams to win the region’s Masters event. They qualified for the Masters Reykjavík, where they defeated X10 before losing to Sentinels and Team Liquid. They also started with a win over Crazy Raccoon in Champions but were sent home by Gambit Esports and Team Secret.

The Brazilian team made a card against Gambit, who were among the top teams in the tournament, which shows that they can compete with the best. If Team Vikings can continue to improve against international opponents, they will move from one of the best teams in their region to one of the best in the world.
