The best tank jobs in Final Fantasy XIV

While some multiplayer games contain metas that heavily favor certain jobs over others, Final Fantasy XIVis balanced. Each job is viable in all sorts of content, but they still have different strengths and weaknesses.

In the MMO game, there are two tanks in raids and trials: a main tank and a secondary tank. The warrior is generally a straightforward job. It’s the purest form of tank in the game, and it’s beginner-friendly. Its rotation isn’t as fast as the Paladin and Gunbreaker, while its abilities are more straightforward than the Dark Knight, making it ideal for all types of players looking to get into tanking, whether they’re new to the game or not further this professional group. It also boasts impressive survivability due to its life stealing and healing abilities.

It was released along with the expansion skyward and unlocks at level 30, which is now included in the free trial. The job features one of the best quest lines written by, and contributing to, narrative designer Natsuko Ishikawa endwalker‘s main scenario.

It offers the most utility compared to the other tank jobs, although it’s not as extensive as its iteration World of Warcraft.

When one healer is down and the other is busy reviving in a raid or trial, the paladin can use this ability to save the day.
