Team Aurora complete roster overhaul for 2022

Team Aurora will undergo an almost complete overhaul of the roster for 2022, with four new players from several different leagues being signed, sources said Upcomer on Sunday. Only bot laner Yücel “Rhioni” Morgil and coach Oğulcan “Aredian” Kazar will return from the previous squad of the team that ended the winter and summer splits with a combined 1:35 record.

The new roster of the team will be the top laner from Tricked Esport Ferhat Can “Madly” Atma, the Galakticos jungler Taha “Elramir” Yurdagüven, the DWG KIA Challengers mid-laner Kang “Jool” Dong-soo and the BOOM Esports- Support Ha “Pop” Min-wook include. This new roster includes former members of the team returning, young new talent from Korea straight from the academy and seasoned support with international experience.

Madly started his career at Aftershock Esports but made his first big impression on Team Aurora. He left the team after the 2020 summer split to join a Greek Legends League team and then an NLC team, where he not only received the trophy but also gained EU Masters experience. Now he’s back to be part of his former team’s resurrection in 2022.

Elramir, the team’s veteran jungle, joined three different teams in the Turkish Championship League after playing for Team Aurora in the 2020 winter season. Since then, despite missing a title for his name, he has not missed a playoff. He came closest in the winter of 2021, when Fenerbahçe lost 3-1 to Istanbul Wildcats in 1907. He may not have MSI or Worlds experience, but he’s been with the TCL since 2018 and now he’s back on his old team for 2022 to try to change that fact.

After the Korean exodus, the TCL saw many Korean players come and go, but Jool has a chance to beat them all this year. This 19 year old talent comes from the roster of one of the best teams in the world and is the crown jewel of this new roster. Along with veterans like Elramir and Pop, he has the potential to take this team to great heights.

The only player who was part of the team last year, Rhioni, played with three different supports during his tenure at Team Aurora. Now he has an accomplished lane partner with many accomplishments to help him realize his potential as a top bot laner in the TCL.

Speaking of pop, he’s key to this whole scheme. His trophy case is only surpassed by his experience at the Mid-Season Invitational, the League of Legends World Championship, and how valuable he is to a team made up of TCL veterans and high potential newbies. Now he has the chance to compete with his old region in Worlds Play-ins or MSI groups.

“We have built a great squad with a good balance between rookies and veterans,” said team manager Kaan “Lelouch” Kılıç. “I’m looking forward to seeing Team Aurora, which will be on everyone’s lips with its successes.”

While Team Aurora may have crashed and burned last year, few things say more that they will “rise from the ashes” in 2022 than the signing of the mid-laner of the DWG KIA Academy, a support from the Pacific Championship Series with international experience and a valuable asset that has played for four teams in two years. Now it just remains to see how much they can improve over last year.
