Talon Esports is parting ways with Fly, Gabbi

Talon Esports removes Fly and Gabbi from its dota 2 Roster as the organization prepares for Spring Tour 2022 dota Pro circuit.

This decision was made due to a different mindset, “constantly changing circumstances” surrounding the roster, and a poor performance in the lower tier of the Southeast Asia minor league during the Winter Tour where the team finished fifth.

The move allows Fly and Gabbit to freely explore deals with other teams as free agents head to the Spring Tour. Both should be in high demand across multiple regions as teams look to potentially boost their rosters in the absence of a Major.

“Our organization strives to put our teams in the best position to excel and win by supporting our players and trusting our leadership in return,” Talon said said. “We appreciate the sacrifice and dedication of both individuals and wish them all the best for the future. We will take this time to re-evaluate our roster and will be participating in the upcoming DPC SEA Tour.”

The DPC was Talon’s debut in the dota Scene, signed Fly away from Evil Geniuses and compiled a list of other SEA veterans like Gabbi and kpii around him. Now the team is looking to take a new direction for the next phase of the season, keeping the contracts of Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, kpii, and Brizio Adi “Hyde” Putra Budiana.

It’s good to see Talong staying on the competitive scene after not finding immediate success in DPC, but mixing two experienced players like Fly and Gabbi puts them at a disadvantage in the next phase of the season.
