Steam has the most concurrent users ever, with a record 28 million players

Despite its rivals, Steam has continued to grow as the industry-leading digital market for PC games, and Valve has yet again broken records. First reported by SteamDB, Steam today had the highest number of concurrent viewers ever, with 28 million simultaneous users logging into the platform.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, Steam has seen year-on-year growth, until today it hit its all-time high of 28,230,853 simultaneous players. In January 2021, just over 25 million simultaneous users were registered, in 2020 it was only 18.3 million.

The most played games of the day are not surprisingly included Counter Strike Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG, Apex legends, and Grand Theft Auto V..

With no signs of slowing down and big titles to come like those from FromSoftware Elden ring, Steam seems to continue to grow, and it may only be a matter of time before the platform breaks another record.
