South America 2022 DPC Winter Tour Regional League: schedule, tables and results

The 2022 Dota Pro Circuit is underway and no one knows what to think of South America as some stronger teams look like they’re playing in the lower league during the Winter Tour.

Many of the squads that did well last season have seen drastic changes, some players have returned to the region from overseas and only beastcoast looks really similar from last season’s top teams.

Prize pool and format

Starting with the Winter Tour, 16 teams, divided into two divisions, compete in a round robin tournament to decide which of them is worthy of taking part in the Winter Major, staying in the top division or being eliminated entirely.

Along with North America, SA is one of two regions that receive only two places in each major – a direct playoff invitation for the top seeder and a group stage for the runner-up.

As soon as the Winter Tour ends, the bottom two teams in the upper league will be relegated to the lower league and will be replaced by the two best squads in the lower league. In the meantime, the bottom two leagues have been relegated completely from the regional league, with two teams from a new open qualifying game coming into play.

Each regional league will have a total prize pool of USD 280,000 per tour, with the top five teams in the top division also earning DPC points, which the teams must earn in order to receive a direct invitation to TI11. DPC points will scale this year, with more points being distributed later in the DPC season than evenly.

Teams to watch out for

Beastcoast is the easiest choice from SA every year. The team has been a closed unit for several years, knows how to assert itself at the highest level and dominates the region even outside of short errors.

Thunder Predator should likely be the next team on this list. The organization signed the majority of NoPings e-Sports lineup from last season. The previous TP squad also stayed together and will compete in the top league under Lava.

NoPing, SG Esports, and Infam all also have interesting new roster with a few staples that hold them together. There might be a few teams that are performing well in the lower league, but right now our squad is our way to get back to the top with a lineup of Brazilian veterans who itch.

With all the unknowns featured in SA including Team Unknown, here are all the tables, scores and results for the Regionalliga South America 2022 DPC Winter Tour which runs from November 30th to January 23rd. You can view a full schedule here.
