Former TSM VALORANT Player Taylor “Drone” Johnson has been released from the organization since his contract expired last week, multiple sources told Dot Esports.
Drone had been first on the bench for TSM’s roster since July 5th reported confirmed by Upcomer and later by the organization that day. Since he was released from his contract, he can look for a new team.
However, Drone is unlikely to be competing for a professional organization at this point as most teams have their starting fives set ahead of the start of next year VALORANT Champions Tour, which is scheduled to start on January 27th.
Drone was one of the original members of TSM VALORANT Roster formed in May 2020. Drone, a former counterstrike Pro, quickly became a prominent player on the North American scene after successful appearances with TSM. The team won several smaller events and finished runners-up in the Riot-sanctioned First Strike event. TSM was defeated 3-1 by 100 Thieves in the December 2020 Grand Finals.
TSM has made several roster changes throughout the winter off-season. Most recently former colleague CS:GO Gamer James “hazed” Cobb joined NRG Esports in November 2021 after his 18 month tenure at TSM.
TSM announced its launch VALORANT Squad yesterday with the additions of former FaZe Clan player Corey Nigra and former Immortals player Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo. The pair will join Matthew “WARDELL” Yu, Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik and Aleko “LeviathanAG” Gaboniya.
TSM will compete in the upcoming NA VCT Open Qualifier beginning January 27th.
