The presence of the super-fast blue hedgehog known as Sonic, SEGA’s mascot, was pretty evident at this year’s The Game Awards. It appeared in the form of two trailers. In the first, we saw clips from the sequel to the 2020 film. The hedgehog must team up with Tails and Tom, known from the previous film, to save the world from the temptations of the evil Dr. Rescue Robotnik (aka Eggman), who is assisted by Knuckles. The film opens on April 8, 2022 with Jim Carrey and James Marsden in the leading roles.
The second TGA trailer with Sonic in the lead shows a new game with his participation. We heard about its creation back in May, but it’s only now that developers have revealed its full title – Sonic Frontiers. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and Nintendo Switch and will be released for Christmas 2022. Further details will be published in the coming months.
