Skyesports Champions Series (SCS) Teams Receive Traditional Welcome As They Land in Chennai

The playoffs for the Skyesports Champions Series (SCS) are all set to commence from May 31st, and the participating teams have already arrived in Chennai to get acquainted with the city’s atmosphere ahead of the tournament.

The SCS playoffs will essentially lead the road for the South Asian teams to attend the VCT Stage 2. The top two teams from the Skyesports Champions Series will be able to attend the VCT Stage Two APAC Challengers event.

While India has witnessed its fair share of prestigious Valorant tournaments in the past, none of them had seen its participating players being welcomed in a manner as unique as the city of Chennai greeted the participants of the Skyesports Valorant Series.

In fact, for the first time in the history of South Asian esports, players were greeted with garlands and traditional dances including Karkattam (Tamil ancient folk dance), Mayilattam (Peacock Dance), and Oyilattam (Dance of Grace), giving them a taste of the rich culture and heritage of the beautiful city of Chennai.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be welcoming South Asia’s best esports athletes to Chennai,” Shiva Nandy, the CEO and founder of Skyesports, said. “The state of Tamil Nadu is one of the oldest civilizations in the world and is rich with culture and heritage. Skyesports is headquartered in Chennai and we hold this very close to our heart. I’m glad we

were able to give the athletes a taste of the culture by welcoming them in a traditional fashion with popular regional dance styles.”

On top of this, Skyesports has also put up more than 12 billboards across Chennai to create hype for the upcoming SCS and give some additional recognition to the participating teams and their players.

The playoffs for the Skyesports Champions Series are set to kick off from May 31 and will continue until June 5. The event will see six of the best South Asian Valorant teams – Enigma Gaming, Global Esports,

Revenant Esports, Orangutan Gaming, Velocity Gaming, and Full Power Gaming – battle it out in a double-elimination bracket for a shot at the VCT Stage 2 APAC Challengers.
