Silco was added as a character in League of Legends Teamfight Tactics, Riot says other characters “from outside Runeterra” could be added in the future

Silco, a popular character first featured in the Netflix animated series “League of Legends,” Arcane, is added to a League of Legends game.

While Silco won’t be playable in the rift of the full League of Legends (LoL) game, he’ll be added as a unit in Teamfight Tactics (TFT), Riot’s LoL-themed auto-battler.

It will be added to the mid-set of TFT Gizmos & Gadgets, which will be released in February 2021.

This is what Riot Games announced today on the TFT Twitter account:

Silco is one of the main characters in the nine-part first season of Arcane, as the villain at the center of the hostilities between Piltover and his lower town, Zaun.

Communications specialist at Riot Games Rodger ‘MinionsRpeople2’ Caudill said in an announcement post on the League of Legends website that Silco had to be built from scratch for TFT.

“Adapting this villain from one screen to a slightly smaller screen comes with its own set of challenges,” Rodger said. “As our first unit that is independent of the League of Legends champion roster, Silco presents unique challenges and opportunities for the team.

“To make Silco the villain you know and hate, we started early with his concept, rigging and animations. And because we started early, we share early too – remember this is still a work in progress and good things take time!

Silco’s gear and skills have not yet been revealed, but Riot has promised that “he will be a thought leader when it comes to the fight”.

“Usually we can do a lot of work to adapt League of Legends champions to Teamfight Tactics, but Silco isn’t coming to League of Legends so we had to build him from the ground up. ”

Riot also hinted that other underdogs might join the game in the future – “maybe some from outside Runeterra …”

This could suggest that characters from Riot’s FPS game could join Valorant, or some from the Void in League of Legends lore, or maybe we’re wrong and it could mean something completely different!
