During the The Game Awards 2021 gala it was announced that PUBG: Battlegrounds will switch to the F2P model. This will happen on January 12th next year.

This year’s The Game Awards gala wasn’t just full of announcements and presentations of upcoming games. There were also announcements about previously released productions. For example, we’re talking about PUBG: Battlegrounds (formerly known as Playerunknown’s battlefieldswhich, considering the acronym for this title was PUBG, makes the new name a little … weird). Well, as Krafton announced during the event, From January 12th, this once popular network shooter will be converted to a free-to-play model based on the battle royale mode.
