PUBG: Battlegrounds is now free to play

It’s time. Gather your squad and chase the chicken dinner because PUBG: battlefields is finally free-to-play.

As announced at The Game Awards 2021, January 12th is the date on which one of the currently greatest battle royale titles will be playable for free on PC, console and mobile phone.

Previously, mobile gamers were able to experience the action for free, but now everyone can join in the action. As with other free-to-play games, players can purchase cosmetics and other unlocks in-game. However, it doesn’t cost a dime to start playing the game.

If you bought the game before today’s news, you will have access to the Battleground Plus premium service. This gives you access to ranked games, custom modes, and special in-game items. You also get the PUBG Special commemorative package with free in-game loot.

Along with the free-to-play game, Update 15.2 was also released today, which brings a lot of new content to the game.

PUBG First launched in Early Access on Steam in 2017 before quickly reaching a large audience. At the time, it was the biggest battle royale game out there. It has continued to maintain a dedicated player base over the years and expanded dramatically with the release of PUBG Mobile.

Now that the game is free, it’s the perfect time for players who haven’t watched it to jump into the action. Whether you’re on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC, you can go to your digital store and download PUBG now free.
