- Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt, spoke in detail about the further development of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3;
- We can expect a major update for the first quarter of 2022 Cyberpunk (Patch 1.5);
- The next generation console version of the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not progressing as the team had hoped.
The CDP President announced that Patch 1.5, the next big update of Cyberpunk 2077 will be launched in the first months of 2022 (At the same time, the game will also be released on next-generation consoles). That being said, we also learned more about The Witcher 3, which is slated to be available on Xbox SX / S and PlayStation 5 in the second quarter of 2022.
Are you sticking with next-gen games? in an interview with the Polish weekly Rzeczpospolita, Adam Kicinski was asked about the decision to postpone the publication of Cyberpunk on next generation consoles. As he says, it wasn’t an easy decision:
“The decision to move the next-gen version of Cyberpunk was difficult, but we are convinced that it was rightespecially since it was clearly recommended by our development team. We need extra time to refine the game’s graphics and performance so that the quality is as high as possible throughout the game. “
The same goes for optimizing The witcher on Xbox SX / S and PS5 consoles. As Kicinski says, the work takes time longer than the company would like, but the main reason is that the game itself is quite old ??? it was 7 years ago. The leap in technology that has taken place in the meantime was a big one, so there are many gaps to be closed.
When The witcher reaching the next generation, we can expect more DLCs for the gamewhich, as we can see from the interview, will be inspired by the Netflix show.
The question also arose as to which CDP RED will be asked for many years to come, namely: What lessons have been learned from last year’s introduction of. drawn? Cyberpunk? As Kicinski says, it was the most complicated project, and the imperfections motivate the Reds to work. Because of this, the CEO of CDP believes that in the future Cyberpunk 2077 is perceived as a good game.
We will find out whether this is the case next year, when the aforementioned Patch 1.5 is released. Until then, players will have to rely on modders who are busy adding new content such as new vehicles to the game.
