NLC Spring 2022 roster summary for Division 1 and Division 2

The NLC is back! The competitive League of Legends returned to the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries tonight as the first Division 1 games kicked off in the spring of 2022.

After a long off-season that got the NLC community talking, the prizes leaked, and the NLC 2022 casters announced, Megalodontus brings together all of the teams and players in NLC Division 1 and 2. You can also see the results from day 1 here.

NLC Division 1 teams and squads

After Freaks 4U Gaming took over the NLC organizational duties from DreamHack, it held a calibration tournament to determine which ten teams would make Division 1, which has a single group.

Many teams from last summer have left, notably Fnatic Rising, Godsent, Galaxy Racer, KOVA Esports, Nordavind (now 00 Nation), Tricked Esport (NLC summer champions), Resolve, and Granit Gaming. However, some newcomers have been added, such as X7 and Astralis Talent.

The NLC recently announced it too Kit Kat returns as an official partner of the ERL.

These are the 10 teams that will play in Division 1 in spring 2022:

Astralis talent

  • Upper lane: Carlsen
  • Jungler: Taxer
  • Middle lane: Chres
  • Botspur: Chrisberg
  • Support: Wendelbo
  • Head Coach: Donby

JD Excel

JD Excel really made headlines when Kikis, a seasoned top laner / jungler in the European scene, was rumored to be supporting the role reversal. The NLC stream also revealed that the team is now called JD Excel (instead of BT XL), although there is still no official announcement.

MNM games

They left it late, they left it great – MNM today announced their roster:

X7 sport

X7’s LoL squad caused a stir – it includes two Korean import players, including Jungler Haru, who was part of the 2017 Samsung Galaxy Worlds winners list.

NLC Division 2 teams and squads

Teams that did not make it in the Division 1 calibration tournament were also able to try their hand at qualifying for Division 2, as the Telia leagues and the UKLC system were revised / merged into Division 2.

While Nox Esports recently announced that it would cease all activities and we have yet to see who will take over (and several team lineups have yet to be confirmed), these are the current teams for Division 2. We will update this article when the confirmed lineups are announced.
