The NLC, the League of Legends European Regional League (ERL) for Great Britain, Ireland and Scandinavia, has announced its talents for 2022.

Casters Hiprain, Guldborg, Jamada and Troubleinc have returned to run the new NLC under Freaks 4U Gaming.

The tournament organizer has also brought on board Viperoon, Initialize and Nymaera, who were guests last year. The production will be transferred from Berlin.

All of these casters are British with the exception of Guldborg (Denmark), Troubleinc (Greece) and Archarom (Portugal).

A new face in the line-up is the Portuguese caster Archarom, who has a long history in the Portuguese ERL: the LPLOL. In 2021, he was often matched with Ahnyfar in the LPLOL, who too throw a few UKEL matches.

Faces not on the announcement include presenter / caster Excoundrel, who joined PR agency The Story Mob, and Aux, who recently joined the Chinese LPL English broadcast team.

However, the NLC under previous organizers DreamHack has had many guests in the past including Medic, Foxdrop, Froskurinn, and Chronicler to name a few, so guest casters could still be a possibility.

The NLC launched a new multi-division league ecosystem last summer, and at this point it is not clear whether or not Division 2 and below will have separate broadcasts.

The NLC is an accredited ERL, which means it is expected to host one offline event per year. However, it is currently unknown whether the NLC will host an offline event amid the pandemic.

With the acquisition of F4U and the standardization of ERLs by Riot Games in terms of format, pricing and more, the top league of the NLC will look very different for 2022.

12 teams have been reduced to 10, all teams play in a single group and these teams were selected for Division 1 after the NLC calibration tournament.

Sources have also told ENUK that following Riot’s implementation of the new rules for the ERLs, € 200,000 in prize money and grants have been made available to NLC teams.

Standardization also means that the 2022 ERLs will have the same start dates. NLC Division 1 begins January 10, 2022 while Division 2 begins January 25.
