The latest Fortnite leak reveals a new creature known as the “Butter Cake” that may be rideable.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is in full swing. We saw a huge range of new features including a new map, some new weapons, and some interesting characters to discover along the way. Since this is just the beginning, Epic Games certainly still has a lot up its sleeve and some leakers have made it their business to find out what.

Well-known Fortnite leaker, HYPEX, recently went to Twitter to highlight some of the potential additions to Fortnite in the future. One such trait was a strange purple creature currently known as the “butter cake”.

According to HYPEX, this weird lizard thing has four variants, one of which has a 100% spawn location chance. Additionally, “Butter Cake” will apparently also have a blowhole that players can likely use to redistribute it.

In addition to the creature, a kind of berry fruit will also appear, which is also sold by Haven for 25 gold. It’s not exactly clear what the purpose of the fruit will be, although there’s a good chance it is a health or shield item. The creature also apparently drops a 50 HP piece of meat when destroyed – if you can bring yourself to it.

The most interesting part of the leak, however, is that HYPEX may refer to “Butter Cake” as “the first rideable animal” in Fortnite. The Battle Royale has certainly had a ton of interesting creatures over the course of its seasons, from raptors to wolves to creepy prey sharks. Running at your enemy on the back of one of these devices could be a lot of fun, so it’s exciting to think that this could be a possibility in the future.

Until there is an official announcement via Epic Games, the leaks are of course mainly speculation. HYPEX is a reliable leaker when it comes to Fortnite, but with no timeframe or official confirmation of who knows when “Butter Cake” might show up.
