Na’Vi wins the BLAST autumn finale

Natus Vincere won the BLAST Premier: Autumn Finals and defeated Team Vitality 2-1 on Sunday. They raised $ 225,000 in prize money from the event.

The result seemed like a foregone conclusion for Na’Vi, the # 1 team in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. After winning the PGL Major Stockholm in 2021, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and his team did not give in in their relentless dominance. It was event victory after event for the Commonwealth of Independent States team, despite Vitality showing some resistance.

Card 1 was Mirage, where it looked like it would be an easy win for Na’Vi, but a late rally from Vitality made the major winners sweat before they could finish it at 16:12. Card 2 was Nuke, Na’Vi’s choice. The CIS team had a winning streak of 20 games on the map. Vitality ended that streak, took card 16-6 and brought the series to card 3, Inferno. Na’Vi came out hungry and even a strong performance by Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was not enough to help the 16: 7 against the French.

“We actually lost Nuke to play more in the arena,” joked s1mple in an interview after the game. “Thanks everyone for playing today and thanks to everyone who watched.”

Vitality, whose roster changes are planned, still performed well in the fall finale. In Astralis, they fought their way past the favorites of the home team, who, despite their new squad, performed with full force. The hard-fought 2-1 battle against the Danes worked against the French, who had to contest the grand finals later that day. Still, the victory on Nuke showed that they still had something in the tank. In the end it wasn’t enough.

In the grand finale, the s1mple show was in full swing, with the Ukrainian sensation taking 76 kills over the three cards with a. dropped 1.49 HLTV 2.0 rating. The 18-year-old threshing phenomenon Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi was a loyal runner-up.

The grand finale drew a maximum of 861,000 spectators, according to esports charts.

After the end of the autumn finals, there is only one BLAST event left in the calendar year 2021 – BLAST Premier: World Finals. The eight teams competing in the world finals are suspended. They are: Gambit Esports, Heroic, Natus Vincere, G2 Esports, Team Vitality, Ninjas in Pajamas, Team Liquid and Astralis. The world finals run from 14.-19. December 2021.
