Na’Vi end year of dominance with victory at BLAST World Final

Natus Vincere beat Gambit Esports 2-1 and won the trophy at the BLAST Premier: World Final. They will earn $ 500,000 in prize money, while Gambit will take home $ 250,000 for second place. Na’Vi will also become repeat champions after winning them BLAST Premier: Global Final Beginning of 2021. With the win, Na’Vi, the best team in the world, crowns an unbelievable year.

“I’m very proud of my team,” said Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov, the leader of Na’Vi in the game, in an interview after the game. “We made it from the bottom row, like at the beginning of the year.”

The game was a replay of a popular derby between the two Commonwealth of Independent States teams. Gambit boasts a winning record over Na’Vi, but Na’Vi have been stronger on the LAN – especially them ripped off gambit in the semifinals of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

Although Na’Vi dropped their card selection from Mirage, 11-16, they quickly responded to Ancient, 16-11. Inferno was completely one-sided, with Na’Vi playing some of their best Counter-Strike since the beginning of the BLAST World Finals. They blew Gambit out of the server with a 16-6 stomp all the while screeching enthusiastically and getting louder than what is typical of the team.

“We were so excited,” said Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev in an interview after the game. “After every lap we said to ourselves that Boombl4 should be louder than [Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov]. “

S1mple has been named MVP of the BLAST World Final. He finished the grand finale with 77 kills and 40 deaths on a monstrous 1.62 rating. Nobody on the server even reached the level of s1mple, although Valerii “b1t” Vakhovskyi also delivered a strong performance. B1t ends its rookie year and its first year at Na’Vi without losing a single LAN event.

“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year haters,” said s1mple. “I hope you are well.”

Na’Vi won all S-Tier LAN events in the second half of 2021. Her tournament victories this year include the following:

  • BLAST Premier: 2020 Global Final
  • Intel Extreme Masters XVI – Cologne
  • ESL Pro League Season 14
  • PGL Major Stockholm 2021
  • BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021
  • BLAST Premier: World Finals 2021

The team’s 2021 profit is approximately $ 3.2 million with an additional $ 1 million to win the Intel Extreme Masters Grand Slam.

After the BLAST World Final, the next major Tier 1 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament will be the IEM Katowice, starting on February 15, 2022.
