Every game, be it a PC, console, or mobile generic, has its own base of scammers who always tend to destroy the integrity of the former. Be it Counter-Strike or another Battle Royale, you can come across a cheat in every 2 of your 5 games.
It really is a mood breaker to see your hard earned matchmaking rating go down the drain on the scammers. This is also the case with Battlegrounds Mobile India, which has recently been a vigilante justice against its player base, eliminating cheaters through a permanent ban.
To further thwart any scammer’s actions, Krafton has decided to impose hardware bans on those who use illegal software to gain the upper hand and gain an unfair advantage over others.
Hardware bans are almost impossible to circumvent and the only way out to keep the hackers at bay. Should a player be given a hardware lock, he / she will not be able to create a new account and return to the game because the lock is so effective.
To everyone’s surprise, this new firmware was already being used by Krafton on December 24th, as the parent company is still waiting to encounter any hardware bans in its forum.

Below are the developer notes:
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has indeed been successful in monitoring a wide variety of user accounts that have been reported to be operating illegally within the game, which was further condemned and banned in the wake of the former.
According to the latest report, between December 13-19, the developers of the free game almost banned one Lakh account within a week.
Additionally, the list of these convicted accounts has also been released by the Krafton team and is currently on a lifelong suspension due to be imposed shortly. This follows the previous wave of bans that blacklisted over 142,000 BGMI accounts between December 6th and 12th.
BGMI on his website reached out to the community in an open post saying that around 99,583 accounts were permanently banned from Dec 13th to Dec 19th, followed by the list of the same published by Krafton.
