Krafton has announced its first official PUBG: New State Esports tournament, dubbed the New State Mobile Open Challenge. The tournament will take place in Korea from February 5th to February 19th.
This is the first-ever tournament for the Korea-based players with a $250,000 prize pool. The event will feature the game’s new BR: Extreme mode, which launched last week on both Android and iOS devices.

Players battle it out in BR: Extreme mode, which features 64-player lobbies and 20-minute rounds. The game mode takes place on the Troi map and the battlefield is restricted to a small playable area within the map, which is chosen randomly each game. All players start with a P1911 pistol, a smoke grenade, fully charged thrust gauges and 300 drone credits.
After starting a game, two supply packs will be dropped aimlessly in areas that contain very high value items. Each match will have eight groups of four players in the New State Mobile Open Challenge and the event will use some parts of the standard and universal PUBG Esports ruleset used in PUBG: Battlegrounds Esports.
