How To Defeat Prince Thuradel In Fallen Legion: Rise To Glory

quick links

In Fallen Legion: Rise To Glory betrayal is part and parcel when going on a rebellious crusade across the countryside. Earlier in the game, one of our trusted generals stabbed us in the back, and now, one of our benefactors has gone and done the same. Prince Thuradel is a traitorous worm who is simply looking to fill his pockets at your expense.

Prince Thuradel is, in many ways, a revamped version of Micena. By this we mean Thuradel is a summoner who lets his minions do the talking (mostly). What makes Thuradel stand out, however, is that he is far more potent with magic, and his minions dwarf those of other bosses. Thuradel may look puny, but he is packing quite the punch.

Prince Thuradel’s Attacks

The crux of Thuradel’s attacks is his summons – more so than any other boss prior. He has some basic attacks, sure, but his kit is very much centered around his summons, and if you don’t deal with them fast enough, he can even conjure something far more powerful.

attack explanation counters
Thea’s Ankh Thuradel causes an explosion that deals moderate damage. This attack can be blocked/parried, but since it is more or less an instant attack (after the charge) it can be a bit tricky. There is no projectile to track, no animation to really watch. It’s all about timing. The damage can be pretty brutal on your backline so Block at the very least.
Indrayani Thuradel causes beams of light to rain from the sky. This attack is far less common than Thea’s Ankh and deals less damage. You can parry it with the right timing (easy to do since the attack has projectiles), but even just tanking the damage is not the end of the world.
summon minions Thuradel summons a Magma Wyrm, a Wolf, and a Goblin. This is the first half of Thuradel’s summoning sequence. These monsters are more powerful than their corporeal counterparts, dealing more damage and having more HP. Defeat them as quickly as possible – if at all possible.
Graveyard summon Thuradel combines all three summons into a Werewolf. This is the final part of Thuradel’s summoning ritual. The three previous spirits are destroyed and replaced with a much more powerful Werewolf. This Werewolf can buff itself with Aegis, gain an attack boost, and Lifesteal. It operates almost identically to the Werewolf you fought earlier in the game.

During our testing, we found that Thuradel’s Werewolf would often break. It would get stuck in a repeated loop of applying buffs but never attack. We could not determine what caused this, but it made the fight substantially easier.

Prince Thuradel’s Mechanics

The big gimmick here is Thuradel’s ability to combine his summons. The Werewolf is (potentially) a very potent enemy, as evidenced by earlier encounters with this beast. However, this Werewolf is also Thuradel’s bane.

If and when you kill the Werewolf, Thuradel is Staggeredwhich opens him up to a Rushdown Attack. Thuradel does not have a lot of HP – and his defenses are shattered when Staggered. You can probably kill Thuradel in two Staggers – he is that squishy.

Which Specimens To Take

This is one of the few fights where Zulfiqar is not an absolute powerhouse. He is still good of course, and we recommend that you bring him along in the first or second slot, but since many of Thuradel’s attacks are indirect, his Link Attack won’t work as well. It still works wonders on Thuradel’s minions, however.

Mjolnir is another great pick – once again being ideal in the first or second slot. He is tank incrediblyy, which is always a plus. Pile onto that his high damage and powerful abilities, and you can do some serious damage.

For the final slot, any ranged character will do. We like Apollo for his Falcon Feign ability, but Winchester is an all around great DPS – do be aware she is very squishy, however.

battlestrategy

The strategy here requires a bit of patience. Attacking into Thuradel’s spirit summons is mostly a wasted effort. We recommend you do it to gain manabut a focus on defence is probably your best bet. All three summons are very tanky, and since they frequently move positions to attack, it’s hard to focus them down.

The trick is to wait out Thuradel’s long charge timer for Graveyard Summon. With the Werewolf in play, you can then open up and take it down as quickly as you can. This will Stagger Thuradel, letting you deal massive amounts of damage in a very short amount of time. Rinse and repeat, and Thuradel should go down for good.
