HEET announce the signing of Double Poney

Double Poney – the disorganized French Counter-Strike team – has found a home after almost a year since its inception. On Wednesday, HEET announced this via Twitter that they had signed the Double Poney roster. This step was first reported by 1pv.fr Beginning of January. The roster had previously been bypassed by Team LDLC and Karmine Corp.

HEET are a lesser known Belgian organization. They are currently fielding a British-Danish team in VALORANT. This move marks their entry into the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene.

“Signing DBL is a big step for us as an organization, but I am 100% sure it’s the right move,” HEET COO Jasur “Jazz” Avizov said in a statement on your website. “This will be a long-term project for us, which will give us a lot of experience and a lot of opportunities.”

HEET acquires the Double Poney list

The Double Poney roster was formed after Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro and Aurélien “afro” Drapier were eliminated from the LDLC roster. They started the French project team with G2 Esports’ Audric “JACKZ” Jug, Lucas “Lucky” Chastang and bodyy’s former G2 teammate Thomas “Djoko” Pavoni. After JACKZ returned to G2, the team had a brief stint with Counter-Strike legend Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt. The final piece of the puzzle was a previously undiscovered player, Pierre “Ex3rcice” Bulinge.

Double Poney consistently showed strong results in Tier 2 tournaments and slowly climbed the world rankings. A win over Team Vitality in the Flashpoint Season 3 Regional Major Rankings event catapulted them into the public eye. Since then, Team Vitality has grown into an international squad, making Double Poney the highest-rated all-French team according to HLTV rankings.

“Over the past few months, there have been many conversations within our company about joining the CS:GO scene,” Avizov said. “At that time we had the feeling that the teams available to us did not fit into our planned project for various reasons. However, once we started looking at the DBL Poney roster, we were immediately convinced that this team would fit into our family.”

The team’s main goals this year are said to be qualifying for a Valve-sponsored Major, staying on top of France’s Counter-Strike, and shooting into the top 15 of the HLTV leaderboard.

Double Poney will debut under the HEET banner Malta Vibes Knockout Series 5.

Lucas “Lucky” Chastang
