Immortals player Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar has signed with the Pittsburg Knights to join the VALORANT roster, multiple sources with knowledge of the Upcomer’s move on December 23 said.
The Sova player spent a brief trial period with the team and recently competed with Knights during the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship: Open 6, which ended last month.
Knights reached the grand final of the tournament, but lost to Akrew in the final round. Genghsta finished the match with an average fight score of 163, just above Ashton “Frosty” Rakoske’s score of 150.
Genghsta had several options over the course of the off-season, but had a chance to continue practicing with the FaZe clan, who have not yet completed their roster after their extensive makeover.
The FaZe Clan is one of the many teams to see significant roster changes during the North American off-season. The team has to sign four more players to complete its roster for the next season of the VALORANT Champions Tour next year.
Knights were one of the most active teams in the off-season as they competed in multiple tournaments in preparation for next year’s VCT. Knights recently finished runner-up in the VALORANT Elite Showdown, which ended on November 15th. However, Knights lost 2-1 to the Pioneers in the grand finale.
Genghsta has played under Immortals since May 2020, where he has stayed since then. Immortals has had little success this year and was unable to qualify for an international event in 2021.
Knights currently makes the following list:
- Joseph “bans” Seungmin Oh
- Damion “XXiF” cook
- Ashton “Frosty” Rakoske
- Logan “skuba” Jenkins
- Drake “Exalt” Branly (inactive)
