G2, OG supposedly swap Nexa and Aleksib

G2 and OG have reached an agreement to improve their CS: GO Captains, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Aleksi “Aleksib” Estonian, according to a joint report from and Dexter.

The player swap comes weeks after reported that G2 was targeting Aleksib to take the reins and replace Nexa, who has been their leader in the game since September 2019. The Finnish captain, on the other hand, was part of the OGs CS: GO Team since its inception in December 2019.

Neither of the leaders in the game could achieve much with their current teams. OG has yet to win a Tier 1 championship and become a contender. However, G2 experienced good moments, such as runners-up at prestigious tournaments such as the IEM Cologne and the PGL Stockholm Major in 2021. But the team couldn’t make it through the finish line.

It is currently unclear whether G2 and OG are just swapping one player for another, or whether the transaction also includes some kind of compensation from one of the parties. Should the move be confirmed, Aleksib would head a line-up close to winning the championship and lead the team’s latest acquisition, 16-year-old child prodigy Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, who is slated to take on the AWP role.

As for Nexa, he will find himself in a much more difficult situation when he joins OG. The team is less experienced, did not make it to the PGL Stockholm Major and could lose one of their stars, Valdemar “valde” Bjørn, who, according to Evil Geniuses, is in talks to join the new squad
