FPX creates league roster for 2022 around Lwx

FunPlus Phoenix has its League of Legends Roster todaywho, after a disappointing exit from the group stage at the 2021 World Cup, is building a line-up around Lin “Lwx” Wei-Xiang.

The Chinese LPL team only kept Lwx from its original line-up. The newcomers are Top Laner Ping “xiaolaohu” Xiao-Hu, Jungler Yang “Beichuan” Ling, Mid Laner Kim “Gori” Tae-woo, AD Carry Luo “jiang” Bai-Jiang, Support Fu “Hang” Ming-Hang, and another support Dang “Lele” Bo-Lin.

The 2019 World Champions had an excellent run this year when they finished second in the LPL Spring and Spring and Summer Splits. However, their campaign for the 2021 World Cup wasn’t that cheap. They were eliminated in the group stage despite being the favorites to win the tournament.

All former FPX players except Nuguri and Lwx have found a new home. The LPL team promoted the players xiaolaohu, Beichuan and jiang from its academy team FunPlus Phoenix Blaze and brought them to the main stage.

Gori has to be the biggest name on paper for FPX. He is returning to the LPL, this time after leaving the LCK’s Nongshim RedForce. Prior to joining Nongshim Redforce, Gori earned his reputation after playing for SK Telecom T1, EDward Gaming and others.

FunPlus Phoenix has a history of bringing players from the academy to the main squad, but the young team will have to fill in big footsteps if they are to repeat the success of the FPX campaign in 2019.

The LPL Spring Split 2022 starts in January 2022.
