Epic Won’t NFT Games; Tim Sweeney Responds to Move of Minecraft Devs

Twitter users DicklessRichard commented on the information about Mojang’s announcement:

“Hey, Epic Games, it would be really nice to see the same opinion from Epic Games Store. Please, Tim Sweeney, get rid of all such games (containing NFT and/or blockchain) from your store.”

The statement was not ignored by the head of Epic Games. However, the response turned out to be different than the author of the original statement expected. Sweeney believes that the final decision on the subject of the introduction of such a system should be up to game developers, who, like gamers, have the choice not to use them.

“Developers should be free to decide how to build their games, and you are free to decide whether to play them. I believe stores and operating system makers shouldn’t interfere by forcing their views onto others. We definitely won’t.”

This information will certainly please many people. In others it may cause a lot of anger, especially juxtaposing it with the statement issued by Mojang. After all, we read in it that the blockchain system is a threat to the joy of gaming. Does the head of Epic Games disagree with this opinion, or is he shifting the responsibility for financial security to the users of his platform? We look forward to hearing your conclusions.
