Who broke the internet this time?
The Epic Games Store is currently struggling with signups, libraries, and purchases amid a wider internet outage. Other known affected services are Asana and Slack, which are worrying project managers everywhere.
This outage occurs just a week after Amazon Web Services went down on Twitch, PSN, Xbox Live, and more. It appears that AWS is also responsible for this latest surprise, as reported by Action News Jax.
This is the third outage caused by an Amazon Web Services outage within a few weeks. The first caused issues with Prime, Disney +, and Netflix, while the second, as mentioned above, affected many gaming services. It shows how fragile the infrastructure of the Internet really is, as the failure of one service can have effects that disrupt many others.
Many large websites and online platforms are hosted by just a few companies. Amazon Web Services is a large cloud computing service provider. So if it fails, so do all of the websites it hosts.
