Doma joins TENSTAR, officially leaves Fnatic

After reports of leaving Fnatic surfaced, Domagoj “Doma” Fancev is officially a member of the European team TENSTAR for the season of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022.

Doma performed well in early 2021 and reached the VCT Stage 2 Masters final in Reykjavík, Iceland with Fnatic. In mid-December 2021, however, he moved to the inactive squad. Now Doma is active again and plays for an opposing European VALORANT team in the upcoming VCT Challengers qualifiers.

Doma’s way to TENSTAR

Doma joined many esports players who switched to VALORANT from big games by coming from Fortnite. After joining SUMN FC, he joined Fnatic after the organization signed the team. Using his skills with agents like Skye, Sage and others, he helped Fnatic win the EU Stage 2 Challengers 2 in 2021. This form continued in Stage 2 Masters: Reykjavík, where Fnatic had to face international competition. They thrived in this environment and made it to the finals before losing to the NA powerhouses Sentinels.

However, in late 2021, Stage 2 Masters turned out to be Fnatic’s highlight for the year. They fought hard against other teams in Europe and internationally, but never reached the same highs as before. Fnatic’s season ended with a surprising quarter-final defeat by KRÜ Esports, which also annoyed Sentinels on their way to the semi-finals. Not long after that defeat, two days after Acend Champions won, Doma moved to the inactive list.

The future of TENSTAR

Despite TENSTAR’s competitiveness in Europe, attracting a seasoned player like Doma is a big acquisition. Its abilities, flexibility with agents with multiple roles and LAN experience improve TENSTAR’s starting line-up. Apart from two newly acquired players, the current TENSTAR roster is the same that Doma and Fnatic were eliminated from EU Stage 3 Challengers 2 in 2021. Now he has to work with these players and try to return to his previous success with Fnatic.
