DarkZero will sign Neilzinho as VALORANT trainer

DarkZero will take over Neil “neilzinho” Finlay to top the VALORANT list for next year, multiple sources told Upcomer on Friday.

The signature that was original reported by journalist Bo Hoogland during the trial phase, is nearing completion. The team decided, however, to cut off the discussions in order to sign XSET player Bryce “PureR” Lovell. So DarkZero has to sign a player a few weeks before the start of the new season in order to complete its roster.

The Las Vegas-based organization tested several other players over the course of the off-season but has not yet been able to make a final commitment. Like other VALORANT rosters, DarkZero will take a short break before the start of the VALORANT Champions Tour next year.

DarkZero recently competed in the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship: Open 7, which ended on December 1st. At the tournament where XSET was crowned winner, teams like NRG Esports and Complexity reached the final stages of the event. Evil Geniuses ended DarkZero’s run in the round of 16.

British trainer Neilzinho has excellent histories in both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and VALORANT. Although he has led several UK squads, he is best known for his time at G2 Esports, which ended earlier this month. The British’s almost one-year tenure with the European organization ended with a joint last place in the second Red Bull Home Ground event, which ended on November 7th.

Under G2 Esports, Neilzinho led the team to the top four at the VCT Stage 3 Masters in Berlin, Germany. At the event, which took place in September, G2 Esports defeated KRÜ Esports, F4Q and the North American giants Sentinels. G2 was defeated by eventual tournament winner Gambit Esports.

DarkZero will temporarily use the following list:

  • Kyle “screw face” Jensen
  • Adam “Ange” Milian
  • Yannick “KOLER” Blanchette
  • Andy “Andersin” Collins
  • Neilzinho (coach)
