CSGO could finally switch to source 2, according to new leaks

In the past we have seen several rumors and leaks suggesting that Valve is working on a possible port from CSGO to the Source 2 engine. But even after a year since the rumors first emerged, the title has not yet been ported to the new engine.

Porting the competitive shooter to the updated engine would mean drastic visual improvements to the title, among other things. In fact, a fan-made port of Dust 2 in the Source 2 engine shows how great it can possibly look.

Recently twitter user ‘Gift pendant’ has once again found new leaks suggesting that the Source 2 upgrade is just around the corner. In a tweet posted on December 15, he explains that a “csgo” mention has been added to the Source 2 Workshop Manager, which likely means the port is well under way.

For the ignorant, “Workshop Manager” is a tool for publishing mods for the workshop that was previously only available for Dota 2, Steam Tours and Half-Life: Alyx.

Unfortunately, the release date for the highly anticipated Source 2 port for CSGO has not yet been set. The developers behind the shooter have neither confirmed the port nor announced a specific date for the release.

At the moment, the fans have no choice but to longingly wait for the arrival of the Source 2 port. However, a large part of the CSGO community seems certain that the CSGO Source 2 port will come sooner or later.
