CS: GO Squid game card is available in the Steam Workshop

The globally popular TV series Squid Game took the world by storm and caught the attention of almost everyone, be it from the gaming community or not. The show was so popular that people from all over the world created their own versions of it in different games, be it Fortnite, Roblox or Dreams.

That also led the American YouTuber MrBeast to create his version of Squid Game in real life. The video garnered 131 million views and is still growing, including 456 people participating in games similar to the show (excluding the actual violence and death, of course).

CSGO card makers and workshop artists weren’t too far behind in mimicking, creating a card based on the hit Netflix series to become the newest game with a Squid game modification.

The map was created by DepoSit, Animist, Nexus and Concole.

DepoSit – location creation

concole_ – create player models and others

nexus – looking for sounds

Ansimist – card scripts and everything else

Community characters Orel and GabeFollower were also involved in completing the map.

The card requires at least 2 players to start and can have up to 64 players. It has 6 levels that the player must overcome, and each level is based on the show and has different skills. According to the card makers, the rules are also similar to what is on the show:

  • “Red light, green light” – you have to cross a space where the player can be dead for each additional move.
  • “Cookie” – the game in which you have to cut the shape out of a piece of candy.
  • “Tug of War” – the name speaks for itself. The players are divided into teams and start pulling the rope at high speed so as not to be at the bottom.
  • “Murmeln” is an old odd-even-even-even game for children. A player makes a bet and also tries to guess the opponent’s bet.
  • “The Glass Tile Game” is a small bridge made of ordinary and tempered glass. The jump over the tempered glass takes you straight to victory, while the normal glass is your ticket to the other side. After the remaining players have reached the edge of the bridge, here comes the last stage called “Not a Squid Game”. The players are given knives and have a hand-to-hand combat in which only one winner emerges.

The card currently has over 86,000 workshop subscribers.

The map was also noticed by CS: GO streamer, trader and content creator Anomaly, who decided to host their own version of the game for a video, with a skin promised for the winner.

The map can be downloaded from the Steam Community Workshop here.
