Sengoku Dynasty is a survival role-playing game based on a historically correct medieval Japan, in which players go from being a farmer to being the leader of a kingdom.
The spiritual successor to the survival RPG Medieval Dynasty has been unveiled. Set in war-torn medieval Japan, Sengoku Dynasty offers a range of new features that build on the success of its predecessor.
The newly founded Superkami Games is responsible for the development of Sengoku Dynasty, which has a somber premise. In a Japan ravaged by famine and war, players will try to rise from humble farmer to “legend” as they build a kingdom and legacy.
Players can choose between different ways, whether as a charismatic leader, silent craftsman, fearsome warrior or spiritual master, to achieve their destiny. This time, however, they don’t have to go alone. For the first time ever, Dynasty players can cooperate. Sengoku Dynasty offers a co-op mode that supports up to four players. As hosts, players can invite friends or random players into their game and use them to build, complete quests, and fight challenging enemies for special rewards.
There are a number of biomes for players to explore such as ancient forests, snow-capped mountain peaks, misty hot springs, cherry blossom groves, Shinto temples, and other atmospheric locations. The open world is full of villages where players can trade, get romantically involved, community build, and manage their villagers.
There’s a sandbox mode for those who prefer to be creative, or a more focused story mode where players must master key techniques in order not only to survive but also to thrive and prosper in building their kingdom . Creating new tools, houses, and mastering traditional Japanese weapons will be key.
Talking about the historical accuracy of their game, having worked with Japanese historians to develop their game, Superkami Games describe their title as a “Life Simulator in Feudal Japan” with political and cultural aspects being authentic.
The German publisher of the game Tomorrow Toplitz Productions has an animated Reveal trailer. Sengoku Dynasty will be entering Early Access for PC sometime next year.
