The leaks surrounding the Call of Duty 2022 title, rumored to be called Modern Warfare II, continue to roll in from insiders. Already last week, leakers said that the game is already in the alpha phase and that every Call of Duty studio is working on it. That includes Treyarch, the developer of the 2023 game. An insider’s report has also provided a reason why all of these studios have started work on COD 2022.
This new leak has a few different reports. On the one hand, the insider has some good news for the community when it comes to Modern Warfare II. They say the game isn’t like previous Call of Duty titles, which could bode well for many players. However, they also report that a developer recently saw a build of the game and didn’t like what they saw from a gameplay perspective.
Modern Warfare II leaked updates
The leaker in question is @RalphsValve, who has been leaking information surrounding Modern Warfare II for months. They recently leaked this Infinity Ward developed maps inspired by CS:GO.
Over the past week, reports have focused more on the development of the game. Over the weekend, they tweeted that an Infinity Ward staffer compared MWII to Modern Warfare 2019 in terms of movement, gunplay, and more. The staffer allegedly said that the new title has more features compared to MW2019, but they were “not too happy with the gameplay”. They went on to say that the game itself looks “amazing”.

Of course, one person’s opinion means little in Call of Duty since so many different players have different opinions about the franchise. However, it sounds like all the developers are working on the game to make sure it’s the best it can be. RalphsValve tweeted that every COD studio has a hand in this.
When asked why that is, the leaker replies had some words of encouragement for the community.
“It was previously described to me as a ‘once in a generation’ title – so essentially every Activision studio is helping to develop the game. Things are going smoothly.”
