Call Of Duty Series Coming To Xbox Game Pass With Future Games Releasing Same Day On Xbox Game Pass As Well As Playstation.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer in a recent blog post Confirmed that after the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard goes through all current games and future releases from the publisher will release on Xbox Game Pass.
Phil confirmed that Call of Duty – along with the likes of Diablo and Overwatch – will eventually come to Game Pass but will still be released on PlayStation on the same day (atleast until the contract with Sony remain valid).
“We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo, and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities,” Spencer said in the blog post. “By delivering even more value to players, we hope to continue growing Game Pass, extending its appeal to mobile phones and any connected device.” – Phil Spencer in blog post.
As per the blog post, Xbox’s main objective is to bring “gaming experiences to the billions of players everywhere”. Microsoft’s January announcement of acquiring Activision-Blizzard is an important milestone in its journey to bring gaming to everyone everywhere.
“We’re on a journey to put the fantastic creations of developers into the hands of players around the world, no matter where they play.”
It would still take some time before Activision-Blizzard’s games are added to the Xbox Game Pass library as no date or details were shared by Spencer in the blog post. If the acquisition goes through successfully then we can expect to see future iterations of Activision Blizzard franchises presumably come to Game Pass on day one like every other Xbox First title.
