Astralis confirms the departure of the legendary CS: GO trio

The Danish esports organization Astralis officially said goodbye to longtime CS: GO team members Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Emil “Magisk” Reif and Danny “zonic” Sørensen on Wednesday.

The future of the trio has been unclear for some time. Early November 2021, Astralis announced the signing of the complexity duo Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke and Benjamin “blameF” Bremer. Alexander “ave” Holdt should also be included in the squad as a coach. As a result, Dupreeh, Magisk, and zonic had to make room for their new replacement and sit on the bench for almost two months.

Additionally in November, a report from 1pv.fr teased a revision of Vitality’s list. The French squad was reportedly set to go international with Richard “shox” Papillon, Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van and Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam replaced by the displaced Astralis trio later this year.

Since then, Vitality has confirmed that the organization is separating from Shox and XTQZZZ. The 29-year-old’s two-year tenure with Vitality ended with Shox’s departure. Shox starred in many of the team’s greatest moments during this time, including titles at EPICENTER 2019, IEM Beijing 2020 Europe, BLAST Premier Fall 2020 and IEM Winter 2021.

Vitality last took third place at the BLAST Premier: World Final 2021, which took place from December 14th to 19th. Likewise, the departure of XTQZZZ from Vitality on. confirmed Twitter. However, Reports from 1pv.fr suggest that the former Vitality trainer wants to join G2 Esports.

Goodbye tweet, Astralis has now confirmed the departure of the CS: GO Stars and brings the last piece of the vitality movements one step closer to realization.

“Today we say goodbye to three Astralis legends,” said the organization on Twitter. “Good luck, Peter, Emil and Danny. You will be part of the #AstralisFamily forever. Thank you for everything. See you later.”

While there has not yet been an official announcement from players joining Vitality, the move appears to be imminent.

The roster for 2022 reported by Vitality now looks like this:

  • Dan “apEX” Madesclaire
  • Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
  • Kevin “misutaaa” Rabier
  • Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
  • Emil “Magisk” Reif
  • Danny “Zonic” Sørensen
