The story so far
1200 years after the first visit to Kamigawa, the aircraft has fully evolved after the Kami War. Technology has greatly improved, and the world is facing new challenges that come with the advancements.
The story revolves around Kaito, a Planeswalker desperate to find the missing Emperor of Kamigawa. In his travels, he encounters Tamiyo, chances upon Tezzeret, and has to fight Jin-Gitaxias face-to-face. Yes, that’s right, Jin-Gitaxias is on Kamigawa – at least for now.
Ninjutsu is back because of course it would be. Ninjutsu is one of the most popular skills from the original Kamigawa and fits the newest set’s ninja flavor.
Kanal also makes a second appearance, and players may be hoping that these cards are a little more playable this time.
Modded is a new keyword in Kamigawa Neon Dynasty that describes a creature that is enchanted, attached to equipment, or has some kind of counter.
Kamigawa Neon Dynasty introduces a brand new mechanic to the game called Reconfigure. Reconfigure allows a creature to become an Equipment that can be attached to another creature.
Double page sagas
Sagas return in Neon Dynasty, but this time with a new twist. These lore transform into a creature on the third lore counter.
