Acend wins the first ever Valorant champion

Valorant Champions 2021 have found their winners; Acend is the first team to win the Valorant Champions trophy, winning 3-2.

At the tournament, which was held in Berlin, 16 teams from all over the world who had qualified for the final competed for a place in Valorant’s history. The final showdown, however, took place between Gambit Esports and Acend, both teams are from the EMEA region.

The games were tense, both teams showed their worth. The first match took place on Breeze, with Gambit entering the race with a 13-11 win. Acend wasn’t ready to drop it that easily and brought it back to the second card, Ascent, with a score of 13-7. This brought the grand total to 1-1.

In the third game came a strong force from Gambit, who were 11-1 in the first half on the unique Fracture. Despite struggling to soften the blow, Acend took the loss, with the final score of 13-3 in Gambit’s favor.

Since the tournament was at the match point, Icebox was the deciding factor for Gambit. However, Acend refused to simply let her go. After the game went into overtime, it was Acend who took the win with a strong 14-12. The two teams were again drawn 2-2, which turned the last game into a desperate battle.

The last card was an original Valorant: Split. With her confidence shaken, Gambit had a lot of work to do for her when Acend took an early lead. With Acend’s score of 7-5 at halftime, it seemed like things could really go either way. However, Acend maintained its lead with a final victory of 13-8.

The two teams had Valorant Champions 2021 which culminated in an explosive showdown. As the first champions, Acend proved that they always had the greatest prize in mind.
