Assassin’s Creed Valhalla did not follow the example of its predecessor. Thus, we will not earn any achievements in this game on Steam.

From Tuesday Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on Steam. However, the fans are still missing something. We’re referring to achievements that we won’t see in AC Valhalla on Valve’s platform.

The issue of trophies was discussed by Steamusers from the moment the game’s debut on this platform was confirmed by Ubisoft. In numerous threads on the game’s forum on this platform (later merged into one), Internet users demanded the addition of achievements not only to Vallhalibut also the publisher’s other games.

Even older games like Far Cry 5, For Honor and Trials Rising do not offer this feature on Steam, even though you will find it on other platforms (including Ubisoft Connect). Thus, it was virtually certain that the same would be the case with AC Valhalla.

Nevertheless, gamers were hoping that this would change with the debut of the latest Assassin and Ubisoft would start adding achievements to its games on Steam as well. Especially since there are exceptions to the above rule, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, the previous installations of the series.

Unfortunately Ubisoft representative confirmedthat AC: Valhalla will not offer achievements on Steam, and the publisher has no plans to change this in the future. This means the PC achievements will continue to work only within the Ubisoft Connect service.

Of course, gamers are not happy with this confirmation. After all, in practice, it means that you can’t show off your achievements either on Steam or even in Ubisoft Connect, because the trophies in Ubisoft’s service are private (read: invisible to other users).

Some people are so disappointed with this decision that they have reportedly abandoned the purchase of the game on Valve’s platform. Some users point out that the implementation of achievements is trivially easy and yet Ubisoft already has a ready-made list of “achievements.” Therefore, they read the publisher’s decision as a declaration that the company does not want to actively support Steam.

He began his adventure with game pressure in 2015, writing in the newsroom, later also covering film and – oh, horror! – technology (also contributor to the gaming encyclopedia). He started with platformers, which he still dearly loves (including metroidvania), but he’s also interested in card games (including ‘analog’), brawlers, soulslike games and basically every other type of game. Don’t ask about the graphics – after a few hours of exposure, he can be delighted with pixelated characters from games that remember the days of the Game Boy age (if not older).
